Geographical area of study Upper Parana River, Brazil
Source of chromosomes kidney and short term cell culture
Number of specimens with sex 3 females, 3 males
Diploid chromosome number 54
Karyotype formula 50M + 4SM
Fundamental arm number 108

Chromosome staining/banding/FISH NORs were present on one chromosome pair. C-banding analyses showed conspicuous heterochromatic blocks in all chromosomes with a predominance of large pericentromeric C-bands.
