Chromosome staining/banding/FISH Constitutive heterochromatin distribution restricted to centromeric and telomeric regions of several chromosomes with some conspicuous interstitial C-bands. 18S rDNA sites observed on p-arms of three chromosome pairs (st pair no. 3 and acrocentric pairs nos. 11 and 14). Pair 3 showed remarkable 18S size heteromorphism between homologs. 5S rDNA sites observed on p-arms of chromosome pair nos. 3, 7, 8 10 and 14, where pair nos. 7 and 10 encompassed double 5S rDNA sites.
