Geographical area of study Enseada de Botafogo, Guanabara Bay, RJ, Brazil.
Source of chromosomes Cephalic kidney.
Number of specimens with sex 29
Diploid chromosome number 48
Karyotype formula 2sm+46st/a
Fundamental arm number 50
Chromosome length -

Chromosome staining/banding/FISH One large subtelocentric chromosome pair bearing Ag-NOR observed with subterminal location on long arm. C-banding revealed occurrence of constitutive heterochromatin blocks in centromeric and telomeric positions in most chromosome complements.
