Remarks |
Iguacu river population revealed single p terminal 5S rDNA cluster in m pair 5 and a single q terminal 18S rDNA site in sm pair 15. In Piumhi River population, 5S rDNA located at p terminal region of the m pair 8, while 18S was identified at p terminal region of m pair 5. |

Female possess 28m+25sm+1st karyotype. Difference in male/female karyotype indicate ZZ/ZW sex system |
Chromosome staining/banding/FISH |
C-banding revealed small amounts of heterochromatic at pericentromeric region of some autosomes. W chromosome presented a large heterochromatic block comprised nearly entire q arm. Z chromosome characterized by a small heterochromatin segment from middle to distal position on q arms. |
