Remarks Centromeric index between 0.50–0.59, 0.60–0.69, 0.70–0.89 and 0.90–0.99 described as meta-, submeta-, acro-centric and telocentric chromosomes, respectively. Fundamental arm number obtained by assigning a value of two to meta-, submeta- & acro-centric chromosomes and one to telocentric chromosomes.
